Hello, and thanks for your interest in Blue Serenity Acupuncture. I’d like to share with you why I became an acupuncturist and what motivates me each day to attempt to offer you the very best acupuncture and Chinese medical care possible.
I have always wanted a career in the medical profession; however, I had a hard time finding where I would fit in. When I was going to college, I had the great opportunity to work for a few alternative western medical doctors who specialized in allergies. At that time, I wanted to become a western doctor and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. My goal was to go to medical school; however, after doing a lot of soul searching I came to the realization that becoming a western medical doctor was not what I truly wanted to do with my life as I did not find any self-reward in how the current western medical system is designed in that it usually only treats the patients’ symptoms instead of treating both the symptoms and root cause of patients’ illnesses. Western medicine does have its time and place when it comes to healing and curing the sick; however, so do many other alternative medical services.
During the winter of 2005, I was involved in a horrific automobile accident involving a bus hitting my automobile. I was in excruciating pain and my primary care physician prescribed me a handful of pain killers and sent me home to get better. At that moment I had a choice; I could take the prescription drugs and watch my life slip away or I could live again and regain what I had lost. I chose to Live Again!
A chain of events occurred that lead me to begin receiving acupuncture three times a week, and I discovered that I did not need any medication for the pain. I was able to get healed without the use of any western prescription drugs, by only receiving acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I found that I was able to feel all of the acupuncture points along with what they were able to do in the body. I was so fascinated by this that I decided to visit the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. From the movement I walked into the door, I felt this was the correct path to help others experience the healing power of acupuncture.
I graduated in the top of my class and was given many opportunities in the school clinic that allowed me to shape the practitioner I wanted to become for patients. I discovered strengths within myself and others that would allow patients to heal and live. The journey is never over but it does allow everyone to grow. I found I have a huge passion for helping others find their path to live again. I have seen what could be described as miracles when it comes to the use of acupuncture. I feel very humble to know that I can make a difference in a person’s life. I am human just like everyone else in our world; however, I have the ability and skills in the art of acupuncture to help everyone guide their way to the road of being healthy.
I truly love what I do and I am very happy that I found my path in our world.
